Ms. Irby has been instrumental in leading nationally recognized programs, with extensive experience in expanded learning and youth leadership programing. She has served the needs of youth, families, and communities for over fifteen years, in various capacities including, K-12 education, youth development, social justice service learning, city policy leadership, community building and post secondary education. Ms. Irby’s background includes asset development, educational leadership and a focus on engaging youth and adults in innovative practices to improve their educational experiences and their community.
Ms. Irby previously served as the Coordinator of Expanded Learning and Youth Engagement for the Sacramento City Unified School District, where she led the development, implementation and oversight of multiple district programs, including but not limited to; expanded learning programs, intervention programing for students of color, culturally responsive student leadership conferences, and equity-related policy advocacy. She established numerous successful partnerships between the district and CBO’s, opening doors for authentic community-district collaboration. She is motivated to improve outcomes for youth because she believes in the power and potential each young person holds. |
